Finding Inspiration in the Community

Puzzle Weekly collects local stories, conserve them via gamification and
co-create new memories with users and our co-creation team.

Puzzle Weekly

Founded in 2022, Puzzle Weekly promotes local culture and aims to develop Hong Kong branding via gamification and co-creation.

We are a social design enterprise incubated by Hong Kong Design Centre. The puzzle hunt game model we designed has won the Best Social Care Award in YDC Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition 2022. We were also awarded the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund and PolyU Micro Fund 2022 as recognition of our innovation and social values towards the community.

Mission

The sense of community belonging is the key to enhance social cohesion and inclusion. We are building up the sense of belonging via collaborating with community members to co-design community-based games for providing a more interactive experiences to visitors and residents.

Our Approach

From the community

We utilise local resources to create puzzles by site visits, observations, focus groups, etc. The stories we collected are transformed into puzzle hunts by inputting unique puzzle designs to create interactive and meaningful experiences.

Co-creation

Through our co-creation workshops, participants will have the opportunity to re-explore and appreciate their living community from different angles and learn how to use puzzle games to guide other users to explore the community.

Gamification

We make the creative ideas sustainable by converting them into puzzle hunt games and other community-based games. Users can explore, experience and appreciate the interesting community stories through games.
